Thank you for your interest in the Reformation Society of Pittsburgh Fall Conference 2007, Gods Kingdom at War, to be held at the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Penn Hills, PA, on October 12-13.
You will be challenged to think about how the risen and reigning Jesus Christ is Lord over all the nations, and how His spiritual Kingdom is advancing throughout the earth by the preaching of the Gospel and the work of His Church that transforms all spheres of life.
Our keynote speakers are Dr. Derek Thomas and Dr. Roy Blackwood. Dr. Thomas is the John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Practical Theology at the Jackson campus of Reformed Theological Seminary. He is editorial director for the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and the editor of its ezine, reformation21. Dr. Thomas also has written or edited 15 books and has contributed to commentary series by Banner of Truth and Evangelical Press. Dr. Thomas also co-edited Give Praise to God: A Vision for Reforming Worship with Philip Ryken and Ligon Duncan. Dr. Blackwood is a seasoned church planter and excellent discipling pastor in Indianapolis, IN, whose doctoral work focused on the mediatorial kingship of Jesus, and whose life and ministry have been greatly impacted by a high view of Christ and His Kingdom.
Dr. Thomas and Dr. Roy Blackwood will teach you about "Defining God's Kingdom," "God's Kingdom at War," "Weapons of Christ's Warfare," and "Victory of the Kingdom." You will engage in a workshop of your choosing on "Citizens of the Kingdom," "God's Kingdom Advancing," or "The Kingdom Worldview," and participate in an example Reformation Society luncheon (held bi-monthly in Pittsburgh at local churches) on 2 Timothy 2:2; workshops and the luncheon speakers will feature Dr. Blackwood, Dr. Richard Gamble, Professor of Systematic Theology at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and local pastors, Rev. Jack Wilson and Rev. Andrew Cooper.
We trust that this conference will edify and empower your personal profession of loyalty to King Jesus where he has placed you in this world, as well as equip you and your church for a more passionate proclamation of victory over sin, death, and the power of Satan through Jesus Christ.
For Christ and His Kingdom,
The Steering Committee of the Reformation Society of Pittsburgh
